Although not high in mileage, this wild moorland circuit can be tough going, with trackless sections on remote moor and some fairly intricate route-finding. Don’t attempt in mist, but if you choose a good day you will be rewarded with a fantastic, wild country walk that visits a possible druid altar at Alcomden Stones, a remote and little-visited summit and a mysterious triangular marker stone.
