Starting from Martinstown go clockwise as far as just before Hardye Monument where you turn left on road and then after a short rise turn left along path well before you reach the top. It is then pretty much downhill to Portesham. Retrace your steps along the road to get back up again by a fairly gentle route and then complete the 8 to get back to M'town. Suggest Brewers Arms at Martinstown (there is also a pub at Portesham or you can extend your ride to Abbotsbury along the old railway and the lovely road past the Swannery
