About trip

While this walk is 20 km in distance, it is not too challenging and offers great rewards,
especially for fans of Scottish bard Rabble Burns. The hike starts at the popular tourist attraction, the Burns National Heritage Park.
From here you wander along pretty country lanes and past the grounds of Newark Castle before reaching historic Culroy village. After a staggered crossroads, follow a path up, which reveal fantastic
views along the Firth of Clyde. You'll descend towards the coast and head past the Heads ofAyr, where you'll find the Burns
Monument. Close by is the Brig O’Doon made famous in Rabbies poem Tam O'Shanter. On your return, take the time to visit Burns National Heritage Park, which is home to Bums Cottage, Bums Monument, Brig O’Doon and Kirk Alloway.
