About trip
Scalby School Turn right out of school, then right onto Hirstead Road (heading North). At Coldyhill Lane cross at crossing and then turn right (heading East) along Coldyhill Lane. Turn Left into Coldyhill Crescent (heading North). Cut across Pinfield Close heading towards Play area, veer left across Play area to Newby Farm Road. Turn Right on Newby Farm Road, then Left onto cinder track (heading NW) Remain on Cinder track (crossing Newby Farm Road again) until it passes into a residential area. Follow the track round to the left of the residential properties then dog leg right onto Chichester Close. At the end of Chichester Close turn Right onto Station Road. Turn left onto Field Close Road (heading N). At fork in Road, veer right onto Lancaster Way (heading NE) Continue along Lancaster Way turning right to follow track (avoiding the last house on the left hand side). The track dog legs slightly left and resumes on the cinder track. Pass by the Rugby Club on the Left Hand Side. Continue on (heading N) towards Burniston. Burniston The track joins Coastal Road (A165) – turn left (heading N) towards Burniston. Cross over the road at the crossing and re-join the cinder track (there are fields to the right and housing to the left). Continue on (heading N), the cinder track crosses Field Lane and then veers NW. Continue on – the track veers N Cloughton On reaching Cloughton follow the track to the left avoiding the residential properties on the right. Cloughton Station Tea Rooms are on the left. Turn right onto Station Lane, then left to re-join the cinder track (heading approx. NNE) Cross Hood Lane. The track slowly veers round to NNW direction, join a wooded portion of the track. Where the track crosses a road to Hayburn Wyke, turn right (heading NE) and walk down the hill to the Inn.
