Minor roads tracks and footpaths. Route includes a ford and crosses busy A6097 in two places. Undulating open farmland and mixed woodland, passes through Oxton bogs which is were Dover Beck starts. This area can be wet and muddy, with a couple of slippery plank bridges to negotiate.
