About trip

The what3words address for parking takes you to the village of Winsham itself where there is usually some roadside parking near the church. Please park considerately.

This was a lovely walk on the Somerset/Dorset border taking in Wayford Woods as well as views of unspoilt rolling countryside; also lots of bluebells (both English and Spanish) at the time we walked this. A lot of this walk (maybe half) is on surfaced farm tracks and lanes but it doesn’t detract from the walk or the views. The first section (walked clockwise from Winsham) follows a section of the Liberty Trail. We encountered literally nobody during the whole walk until the last, short section on the B3162 and then in the Bell Inn in Winsham afterwards!

You could also start this walk from a small car park at Wayford Woods which is at the end of a rough track from Wayford. NB: don’t try to approach it by vehicle from any other direction. There’s room here for maybe ten cars. The what3words address for this car park is  ///demotion.adopts.spreads.
