About trip
When planning routes in the UK we tend to obsess about getting each ride to form a perfect loop. Perhaps this is just because we can but in other countries it's not unusual to do an "out and back" route. When the local authorities downgraded some well used ridgetop tracks there was clearly a difference of opinion between neighbouring factions and we were left with two excellent bridleways which simply end at the district border. These tracks are the "Roads to Nowhere". These two ancient rights of way make great riding so why not do them as a pair of "out and backs". The rest of the route links up the tracks with some non technical byways and farm tracks before the final pull over the top. I guarantee that if you are looking for an isolated route away from the crowds then you won't find many bikers out here.
