By no means a long walk, but a really interesting one with great views from Carn Brea.
There’s parking for Carn Brea, where we parked, but we then walked inland to Carn Euny, where there are the remains of an ancient settlement that was occupied from the Iron Age until late Roman times. The centre of the settlement also contains a ‘fogou,’ a stone-lined tunnel or passage, that are only found in the far west of Cornwall. Their purpose remains a mystery.
The walk also takes in Bartine Castle before turning back to Carn Brea and stunning views.
A short walk packed with interest.
