About trip
This walk is designed for those who enjoy strolling through undulating farmland and alongside crystal-clear running water. It passed through the valleys of two of Hampshire's best-known chalk rivers. At first following the route of a disused railway line, the walk then crosses the main road to go by Fullerton Mill, set aside a striking millpond on the River Anton, before following the Anton valley through farmland. The route then crosses the river to rise over Red Hill on the far side and drop into the Test valley on the outskirts of Wherwell. Here the route crosses the River Test and then meanders back along a part of Hampshire County Council's Test Way, across Chilbolton Common and back to West Down.
