About trip
Submitted by Timwoods on 11. Aug 2010 Use the Ordnance Survery Explorer Map(s): OL4 - The English Lakes: NW area A circular, half-day mountain (above 600m) walk in national park Lake District (England) starting at Seatoller, Cumbria, about 8.1km (roughly 5.1 miles) long and unsuitable for families with children, prams/pushchairs, wheelchairs. /** Please note that distances may not be entirely accurate. For details see http://www.carfreewalks.org/content/faq.html **/ Timwoods's description of the walk: From April to October, the Borrowdale Rambler bus runs between Keswick and Seatoller, opening up a whole host of walks in the towering western fells. This route, over Rosthwaite Fell to Glaramara, ranks as one of the finest. From the village, it's a sharp climb up via Combe Gill, before a couple of wonderful hours up high and a simple descent to Seathwaite and back out. There's so much to do around Seatoller that you should really make at least a weekend of it.
