About trip

This walk appears to be fairly easy but any trip on Blubberhouses Moor needs good navigation skills to be employed. This is because the moor is not often walked and although there are paths shown on the map, including a roman road, they can be hard to find on the expanse of the moor. Go off path and the going is almost certain to be boggy even in the height of summer. Despite the pitfalls Blubberhouses Moor is a fine wide open moorland walk. It has added appeal in being such a quiet walking area and the moor holds some remarkable surprises as can be found out in the story of my walk. After the thrill of the moor and its neighbour Kex Gill Moor the finale alongside the River Washburn is one of those memorable riverside walks, it being one of true beauty.
