DIRECTIONS TO START OF WALK - Nelson Pit Visitors Centre and Toilets, Sat Nav SK12 1TH

Grid Ref – SJ945 834. PAY AND DISPLAY - £3. Leave Macc on A523 towards Poynton. Just before the traffic lights in the centre of Poynton, turn right at the mini-roundabout (by Johnsons Drive-in Dry Cleaners).

This is Dickens Lane. Continue past sports field on your left. Turn second left into Waterloo Rd., Go up to the T junction and turn right into Coppice Rd. When you see the white gable-end house ahead on your left, turn left into Shrigley Rd North. Continue to find the Boar’s Head Pub on your left at crossroads, then turn right into Lyme Rd and the Car Park is first left.

If the bottom car park is full, use the top parking area near the canal. This is where we’ll start the walk.
