WALK TITLE - Budworth Mere – 7 miles approx.

WALK LEADERS - Jane and Roger 

DESCRIPTION – Lion Salt Works – Trent Mersey Canal – Anderton Boat Lift – Budworth Mere – Great Budworth – Marston.

DIRECTION TO START OF WALK – The walk starts from the Lion Salt works car park at Marston near Northwich, post code CW9 6ES.

Our suggested route is as follows:-

- travel to Holmes Chapel and then continue on A50 towards Knutsford

- about 2 miles north of Holmes Chapel turn left onto the B5082 signposted Northwich

- follow this road for about 4.2 miles until you come to the A556

- turn left onto the A556

- at the next roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A530

- after 0.4 of a mile turn left onto the B5082

- follow this road for 1.2 miles until you come to a big roundabout

- take the 3rd exit onto the B5075

- follow this road for a mile and the salt works will be on the right (just before a small bridge controlled by traffic lights)
