Description: Starting in the picturesque village of Great Budworth, this fairly flat walk starts along the North Cheshire Way.   At Barnton we join the Chehire Ring Canal Walk passing the Anderton Boat Lift.   We leave the canal near the Lion Salt Works museum at Marston returning to Great Budworth.

Start: Smithy Lane, Great Budworth, Northwich, CW9 6HL

Approx. 18mls, from Congleton, taking 35mins via Holmes Chapel, Lach Dennis and Lostock Gralam.

Suggested route to the start: From Astbury Mere travel via Holmes Chapel, Lach Dennis, Lostock Gralam and the A559, Marston Ln/Warrington Rd..    Turn right, signposted 'Primary School', at Great Budworth Fountain onto High St.     In the village, continue onto Church St. and then turn left onto Smithy Ln.      Park on the left, in front of the bowling green, or continue on to the signposted overflow car park.
