We parked near the canal, by the marina, at Higher Poynton and walked this one clockwise. There are a few other places on or close to the route that you could park, including the National Trust property at Lyme Park itself; the house is worth spending some time in (and it has a tea room …)
The walk approaches the house from ‘The Cage’ which stands on a hill to the north of the house and affords good views over the surrounding countryside.
