About trip
The Route 1. Turn left out of the car park walking along the road past the toilets and the shops to the A5. Cross the main road with care and then climb over the stile by Saint Curig’s Church. Follow the path up the field and go through the gap in the wall, following the path to a stile by a small gate. 2. Climb over the stile and walk along the path to the next stile. Climb over this stile and continue your journey along the path until you come to a concrete bridge. Once you have crossed over the bridge, turn left and follow the path over a hillock to the next stile. From here you will have splendid views of Moel Siabod and Snowdon. 3. Climb over the stile and continue along the path keeping the Geuallt on the left. Climb over the next stile and continue climbing the gradual ascent following the path. When you come to a crossroad, turn left through the rushes and start ascending the hill whilst enjoying the wonderful views of Llyn Crafnant. Continue climbing carefully until you come to the summit. Some parts can be slippery and extremely steep. Take care. 4. From the summit you will be afforded majestic views of the Ogwen Valley. To the North you will see Pen yr Helgi Du; Llyn Crafnant and the Conwy Valley are to the East; to the West, Mymbyr Valley and Snowdon. Arenig and Cwm Penamnen lie South. 5. Continue along the ridge following the path down towards Llyn Coryn. Follow the path to the stile, keeping the lake on your right. Climb over the stile and continue along the path down to another stile between two rocky out-crops. 6. For breathtaking views towards Capel Curig, Llynnau Mymbyr and the Snowdon Horseshoe follow the path up to Clogwyn Mawr otherwise bear right down the hill, over two stiles, and down steep terrain to the path below. Turn right and return to where the walk started.
