Circular 8 mile walk -can be started at anywhere on route where car parking more convenient. On parts of Mary Towneley Loop- expect horse riders and mountain bikers. There is much history to be recalled -Barcroft Hall, Spencers Cottage, Hurstwood Hall, Limestone Hushings and the graveyard of St Johns Church all need a little research to enjoy this route before walking.
