Route taken from South East Mountain Biking North & South Downs guide by Nick Cotton. We followed the guide pretty much to the letter, with just a minor off piste section where we missed a path somewhere and continued along a road to get back on track. It was a great ride, first real outing for the new mountain bikes and they were certainly appreciated. The Compasses Inn was a welcome break and served good baggettes and pints of lime and sodas. We did have to change an inner tube at the side of a road though, but even that didn't detract from the overall fun we had!
