This is a longer version of a route already on. The start of the ride through West Linton and until the Covenanters grave path, at cairn knowe is very good. However where we left the good track to strike across the bog to pick up the other path was an unrelenting disaster. Do not do this route unless your horse is happy to sink up to her belly in bog. You should also be happy walking through two miles of bog with your horse nudging you out of the way. Do the shorter west Linton / Dolphinton route which has all the good bits without the bad bits Jrn.1@virgin.net
