We walked this clockwise from the end of Downs Way, Great Bookham. There’s on-street parking towards the end of Downs Way, but this is a residential street and so please park considerately. Alternatively, catch a train to Box Hill and Westhumble and complete the walk from there.
This is a lovely walk that basically loops around the Norbury Park estate. This estate was bought by Surrey County Council in 1931 to prevent it being parcelled up for housing development. This was the first intervention of this kind to protect an area of countryside,
This isn’t a long walk, but it’s a lovely one and very varied. It also passes Druid’s Grove where the Yew trees are nearly 3000 years old.
