This is a lovely circular walk from Stoke-St-Gregory along the northern edge of West Sedgemoor and returning over Windmill Hill with fabulous views over the moors to the north in particular.
There is a little parking outside the old village store by the church (w3w address above) and on surrounding streets; please park respectfully.
This doesn’t seem to be a route that’s walked regularly and you need to keep alert for stiles and gates buried in overgrown hedges – a pair of secateurs would have been handy for at least one stile! We didn’t encounter a single other person on the walk itself and the landscape feels remote. Enjoy the silence. We also saw a number of cranes on West Sedgemoor, which was very pleasing.
