This was a lovely circular walk taking in coastal views from the Cleveland Way on the return leg towards Robin Hood’s Bay with sections of woodland and open views towards the coast from the old railway line (the Cinder Track). The Cinder Track is a popular path for both walkers and cyclists.

We began this walk from a cottage beside the Cinder Track so parking wasn’t an issue for us. The what3words address above takes you to the old station car park in Robin Hood’s Bay where you can easily join the track. There are also decent public transport links to Robin Hood’s Bay. We walked this anticlockwise in order to enjoy the views towards Robin Hood’s Bay on the return leg. The tide was out as we approached Robin Hood’s Bay and so we came off the coast path at Stoupe’s Beck, just after Stoupe Bank Farm, and walked along the beach rather than stay on the cliffs.

Parts of the coast path (and the path linking the Cinder Track down to the Cleveland Way just past Stoupe Brow Farm, which is quite steep) were very muddy and slippery on the day we walked this; good boots are a must, especially after rain.

Apart from the link between the Cinder Track and Cleveland Way, mentioned above, the route is well signposted and almost impossible to go wrong!
