About trip
This fascinating circular walk leads to the ruined castle of Dunnottar. This leads to the fortress castle
dramatically perched on a promontory. lt’s worth a visit and rich in historic stories. William
Wallace and Mary Queen of Scots graced the castle with their presence. Most famously
though, it was at Dunnottar Castle
that a small garrison held out
against Cromwell's army and saved the Scottish Crown Jewels. The follow the coast path back to town.
