About trip

A challenging yet rewarding walk on the popular west coast island of Arran takes in fabulous views and the chance to spot red deer, hen harriers and peregrine falcons. From the village of Sannox, follow the track uphill, past disused mine shafts, to reach the Sannox Burn. Cross over and continue on the path up Glen Sannox. The deeply gouged Coire na Ciche here is also
spookily known as the Devil's Punchbowl. Be warned that the path is very steep but is on rock step and a distinct path, and there is a little basic scrambling required further on, before you reach the
Saddle, which separates Goatfell (Arrans highest peak) from Cir
Mhér. From this high point you'll admire the impressive mountain
architecture before descending into Glen Rose on a good path.
Once in the glen you can enjoy a very relaxing walk down towards
Brodick.
