About trip
The beaches on Harris have to be seen to be believed. This walk takes in the amazing beach of Traigh an lar and also the striking
Macleod‘s Standing Stone. There is no waymarked route for the walk but from the car park you should be able to follow a fairly well-trodden path.
At Tréigh an lar you will stare in wonder at the white sand and the crashing waves. Walk towards the headland, and you will reach
Macleod's Stone. Stop for a while and take in the wonderful views of the Isle of Taransay, which was made famous by the BBC '5 Castaway programme, and
over to the north Harris hills.
