About trip
Wildlife fans will be enchanted by this route through gorgeous Angus
countryside, taking in two picture- postcard waterfalls and the chance to spot adders and the rare ring ouzel. The route heads west past the atmospheric ruin of lnvermark Castle towards Lochlee Churchyard, where 18th century Scots poet Alexander Ross is buried. The path hugs the northern shore of Loch Lee, before crossing the Water of Lee and heading towards the Falls of Unich. lf you
only walked this far and back again, you would be rewarded with a wonderful sight. But we urge you to continue, via a steepish climb to reach the delightful Falls ofDarnfF. Note this passes an interesting rocky outcrop of mica schist en route. Crossing the bridge, just after the falls, the trail heads for Cairn Lick, then downhill to lnchgrundle where you rejoin the path to the start.
