This 12-mile section of the Fife Coastal Path from North Oueensferry to Bumtisland reveals
impressive views, including the Forth Bridge and lnchcolm lsland. Heading from the Waterloo Memorial in North Oueensferry, a
path leads to Carlingnose Point Nature Reserve, which is home to an array of limestone-loving plants. The route meanders through lnverkeithing, of historic note after
being given burgh status by King David I of Scotland in the 12th century From here the path Winds round to aptly named St Davids
Harbour and on to Dalgety Bay. Before reaching Aberdour, you pass the ruins of St Bridget's Kirk, which dates back to 1178. The Silver Sands beach here is a true delight and worth stopping for a picnic. The path heads through woodland to Bumtisland. You can catch a train back to North Oueensferry.
