About trip
You might be surpnsed to know that Glen Tilt was once a busy route linking places north of the Caimgorms, such as Braemar to markets in the south, Today the quiet path is the perfect location for a little remote-style walking amid ever-changing scenery. After a steep climb, you will reach the Glen Tilt viewpoint, which gives fantastic views of the glen ahead‘ The descent gives you time to recover your breath, and a chance to take in many more fine vistas. Back at the bottom of the hill you have the option to shortcut across Gilbert's Bridge for the 6-mile route, while the longer trail (10 miles) continues through the gate. After crossing the small bridge over the Allt Mhairc, take the small detour to the viewpoint and ruins above. At Gow's Bridge, your walk turns to head back down the glen to the start point.
