About trip

The what3words address takes you to the National Trust car park at Knoll. this is pay-and-display but members park for free (remember your membership card).

We walked along the beach towards the Sandbanks ferry, where we turned inland. You could walk along the Ferry Road from here for just over a mile, but it was more interesting to take the various tracks that are roughly parallel to the road before crossing the road and taking a footpath/cycle path around the edge of Studland and Godlingston Heath. We turned south-east across the heath just past Greenlands Farm and this track takes you into Studland, passing the church, and onto Middle Beach, where there is a cafe. At high tide there is no access to the beach at this point but we just about timed it right and continued our walk back to Knoll across the sand.

At Knoll there are a cafe and toilets next to the car parking.

This was a pleasant, level walk. The beach was very busy (lots of dog walkers!) on a Saturday in mid-March; I imagine that in he high season it would be crazy busy.
