About trip

Total Climb = 768ft, 234m

Head of Trent

Distance: It is about 6 miles, some ascents and stiles, but nothing too strenuous.

The route takes us down to Knypersley dam, and into the valley for a couple of miles until we reach Norton Green, then onto the Caldon canal, and eventually up through Stockton Brook onto Brown Edge.

Park at Marshes Hill car park ST6 8TY for 9.30.
There is a fair amount of parking here, but it's not unlimited.

Directions to Start: To reach it, head from Congleton through Biddulph and into Kynpersley on the main road, and take a left turn just in front of a car wash with a brown sign to Greenaway Bank Country Park.
Keep going past the Greenaway Bank car parks and cross the dam at Knypersley reservoir.
Continue up the hill, and when you reach a T junction, turn right along the bottom of the bank.
The lane will take you up a hill, and the car park entrance is then on your left.
