WALK TITLE - Cheddleton - Caldon canal - Consall Forge
DESCRIPTION - Walking from Cheddleton, 7.5 miles starting from the Cheddleton Station of the Churnet Valley Railway.
The route takes you along the Caldon canal to Consall Forge and up the Devil's Staircase by the Black Lion. You then go on paths to Stocks Green. Then through woods and fields to the RSPB reserve and past a Butter Cross to arrive back at the railway.
DIRECTIONS TO START OF WALK - From Congleton drive to Leek, and as you come up the hill, take a right turn opposite the big church on your left and just before the market square (St Edward St). Go straight down and across the traffic lights and you will be on the A520. Proceed for around 3 miles through Leekbrook and then look out for a brown sign directing you left down a lane to the railway.
