Starting from the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel in Great Langdale, the Loop is approximately 69 miles long, taking in some of the finest views of the Lake District and some its most challenging climbs. Experienced cyclists will require a gear ratio of 39/27, a compact chainset or triple chainset is strongly advised as the hardest climbs to the end of the route and are generally reached in a fatigued state.
