Aline Community Woodland has a car park just off the A859 close to the Harris boundary and that's where the what3words address will take you.
This is a short and easy walk. The woodland has a circular boardwalk that is suitable for wheelchair users and families with young children in pushchairs. There are also toilets just to the north of the car park and beside a children's play area.
We started off on the boardwalk and then turned off on a gravel track that leads south east towards Grigaspul on Loch Seaforth. It's an easy walk and the track emerges beside the loch where there is a handily placed picnic table. We sat here for a while before exploring the shoreline to the south a little.
We returned the same way that we had taken on the way out, but kept straight on rather than turn left back to the boardwalk; this goes straight to the car park. We had a little time spare and so decided to cross the road, turn left, and walk along the Hebridean Way for about half a mile before turning back. This could be the start of a pleasing walk at another time.
This was a pleasant way to spend an hour or two and nice to walk through woodland - there's not too much of that on Lewis.
