Suggested route to the start: Congleton to Leek, A523 to Ashbourne, straight through Ashbourne on Mayfield Road, Church Street, St John Street, left onto Cockayne Avenue. At the T junction turn right onto the B5035 continue for approx 4 miles, take the right turn (brown signpost) to Carsington Water. Continue on Dam Road past the visitor centre and the sailing club to the end of the dam then Millfields Car Park is on the left.
