I started this walk from the campsite, but there is no parking there unless you are camping. The what3words address for parking takes you to a small car park where the old railway track crosses the road at Featherstone Rowfoot. The Wallace Arms, an excellent traditional pub, is a couple of hundred yards along the road. However, it does not serve food.
I walked this clockwise, following the old railway track (now a cycle path). Great views along the valley from the viaduct at Lambley. At the far end of the viaduct, on the right, a path leads down to a footbridge. When I walked this I took the path to the road, but I think it would be more interesting to cross the footbridge, follow the river and re-join the mapped route when the path meets the road again.
A little further on, as you approach Featherstone Castle, are the remains of an old WW2 PoW camp.
