There’s a small car park beside Cawfield Quarry, which is where we parked, but there are a number of alternatives at various points along the walking route. We walked this anti-clockwise and visited the remains of the castle for a lunch break before turning back.
On the westward leg you are on Hadrian’s Wall with some stunning views, and on the return leg the route follows the course of the Roman Vallum below the wall for part of the way.
