About trip
Lovely walk between two ofScotlands most famous villages, mostly Utilising old railway lines and drovers roads. Partially follows the course of the river Teith and includes visits to the historic heart of Callander, the ruined churchyard of St Aedhs as well as Doune Castle ( location for “Outlander”and “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” ) and it’s nearby Roman fort. Approx 9 miles length mostly on good paths. Some of the forest stretches are a bit muddy and fallen trees require some path navigation. No real climbs.
